REAL AI is a human-created weekly roundup of all things related to artificial intelligence in real estate and emerging AI innovations in other sectors likely to impact our industry.
Making AI sound more human

You know the signs. The output ChatGPT gives you when creating content reads fine, but not quite right. Something feels off. The tone feels too stiff, the words a little too polished, the cadence just… artificial.
That’s because ChatGPT’s default voice is generic. The last thing you want to do is sound like everyone else. Your voice and brand style need to dominate what you share.
But even after you’ve trained ChatGPT Teams or Plus to write like you, if you don’t give it the right master prompt guidance, your content is likely to still feel like it was written by a machine and be scored as AI content – even by ChatGPT!
Here’s how to change that.
Human voice doesn’t happen by accident
ChatGPT is engineered to be neutral, structured, and efficient. You, on the other hand, are none of those things. And that’s the point.
Human writers use rhythm, pause, opinion, and tone. We know when to be blunt, when to be funny, and when to soften or punch a phrase. AI doesn’t. Not unless you teach it to.
That’s where the right kind of master-prompting comes in.
The magic of a master prompt
First, what’s a master prompt? Think of it as your final instruction: the last thing you say to ChatGPT before it writes your first draft.
It’s not about the topic or even the structure. It’s about how the AI should sound. A strong master prompt doesn’t just say “be conversational” but defines what your content should read like.
A master prompt can tell ChatGPT what to do, what to avoid, and how to stay true to your voice. It’s the difference between content that sounds good and is technically correct and content that actually sounds like you wrote it.
Keep in mind that this works best when ChatGPT Teams or Plus already knows your voice and has memory turned on.
Here’s the fix: a “humanizing” master prompt
The concept is simple: tell ChatGPT it needs to sound more human by telling it to follow the instructions in your master prompt.
Here’s an example of a master prompt for agents using ChatGPT Teams or Plus that helps to humanize content, once you have taught it to write like you:
“Remember when you are writing in my voice and brand style, write like a human. Make it sound natural, like something I’d actually say or write to a client, colleague, or prospect. Use plain language, not polished prose. The tone should feel relaxed but smart. Use contractions where they make sense. Break up long sentences. Don’t be afraid of one-liners or fragments if they help with rhythm or clarity.
Avoid anything that feels robotic or overly structured. Don’t repeat phrases. Don’t over-explain. Drop the generic filler. If something sounds like AI wrote it, fix it. The goal isn’t perfection, it’s believability. Make it sound like a real person wrote it in real time, not like it was optimized for a grammar test.
Avoid starting with a prepositional phrase, especially vague ones like “In the competitive real estate industry…” or “In today’s ever-evolving real estate market…” These openers are flat, overused, and add no real value. Start strong with a clear point, a question, or a bold statement. And never use an em dash that connects two words, but put a space between them, and avoid the overuse of em dashes.
Keep my voice throughout. Preserve my tone, pacing, and point of view. I want this to feel like it came from me, not a template. Be confident and clear, but if you have to choose between sounding smooth and sounding real, choose real.”
Paste this right after your first prompt, or attach a text file, and you’ll see the difference instantly.
The best “humanizing” prompt we’ve seen
There’s one master prompt circulating the internet that nails this. It comes from AI blogger Jordan Gibbs, who details it in his Medium post.
Read it here:
This prompt fools every AI detector
(Note: this article is behind Medium’s $5/month paywall, but if you are using ChatGPT Teams or Plus, it’s worth it.)
In his post, Jordan walks through example outputs, both with and without his final humanizing prompt, so you can see exactly how it changes the tone.
We’ve tested it, and the results are excellent.
Sound human. Stay you.
AI can help you write faster, but sounding like you takes intention. A master prompt is one of the most overlooked steps that keeps your voice intact and your content, well, more human. (-Kevin)
